Position: Freelance Motion Designer & Video Editor

Job Summary:
OFC, a creative agency and video production company, is looking for highly talented motion designers / video editors to help us create compelling content for major brands.
Note, applicants must be well-versed and have professional experience in video editing AND motion graphics using Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects. Applications without relevant reels, work samples, or portfolios will not be considered.
Whether you have 3-5 years of experience and are ready to step up and work alongside a nimble, collaborative team as the driving force behind post-production projects, or are an industry veteran looking to connect and be added to our talent roster, we’d like to hear from you!
From internal marketing campaigns and social spots to corporate comms and B2B explainers, your work will span a wide variety of formats and industries.
Our work is done remotely, but we prefer candidates within driving distance of Princeton, New Jersey for occasional meet-ups, equipment exchanges, and production support.
You’ll work closely with our senior and junior producers, senior editor/motion designer, and creative leadership to bring video and motion content to life across platforms.
We’re looking for editors/motion designers who are creatively curious, technically sharp, detail-oriented, strong communicators, and able to take ownership of projects from idea to delivery. You should love collaborating—but also be comfortable flying solo when needed.
Note, while we are not currently hiring a full-time role, successful collaboration could lead to a salaried position in the future.
What You’ll Do:
- Edit video content in Adobe Premiere Pro across a range of styles and formats
- Design and animate clean, engaging motion graphics (2D text, iconography, brand elements, etc.) in After Effects
- Sync and organize footage, manage timelines, and prep final exports
- Take the lead on smaller edits and bring them from rough cut to final delivery
- QC your own work to ensure professional, polished output every time
- Work within client brand guidelines and adapt to a range of visual styles
- Collaborate with producers, other editors, and designers to solve creative challenges
What We’re Looking For (Must Haves):
- At least 3+ years of relevant experience in editing/motion roles
- Proficiency in Premiere Pro and After Effects
- Strong sense of timing, rhythm, music selection, and pacing
- Comfortable designing and animating 2D motion graphics
- Comfort with light color correction and audio mixing
- Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Media Encoder
- Knowledge of codecs, frame rates, formats, and post workflows
- Highly organized, especially with file management and version control
- Experience working without an assistant editor (you know how to organize your own footage)
- Comfortable taking initiative and working independently on edits
- Able to adapt to a wide range of timelines—from same-day edits to multi-month campaigns
- Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media, Communications or similar preferred
- Reliable editing-capable computer and high-speed internet
Nice to Haves:
- Familiarity with Illustrator, Audition, and Mocha
- Interest in design, branding, or logo animation
- Experience creating 2.5D content
