Job Overview:
The MPS (Mercedes-Benz production system) Department is the leading know-how carrier for lean management, process standardization and continuous improvement. We facilitate workshops, deliver trainings and build low-cost systems to support the production and planning staff in our facility.
The role will focus on working with the advanced analytics projects with a strong focus on building solutions by understanding business decisions and helping translate/execute the same with your knowledge of IT tools (Like python/azure/PowerBI etc.)
Responsibilities:
- Facilitation of data driven decision making by designing management dashboards with predictive analytics (machine learning)
- Developing a deep understanding of the business demands and underlying decisions
- Mapping the overall system architecture to map all plant KPIs landscape (Key performance indicators)
- Interface with IT dept. to collaborate on advanced analytics topics
- Creation of PowerBI dashboards presentations functioning as a decision-making tool for the management team
Qualifikationen
- Having graduated within the past 12 months or currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a Business or Engineering related field with a specialization in either data analytics/Computer science engineering/Design thinking/Data science/Business analytics
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Structured thinking and quick comprehension
- Advanced analytics software knowledge for statistical modelling required (Python/R/SPSS for statistical modelling
- Database knowledge (SQL, Oracle etc)
- Knowledge/Interest Microsoft Azure tools/services would be beneficial (data bricks, machine learning, AI)
- Flexibility and high level of commitment is required
- All candidates should be available for a 6 months full time internship
Preferred Requirements:
Currently enrolled in University or in a gap year between Bachelor’s and Master’s degree
A minimum of 3 semesters of studies in relevant field of study
Available for a minimum of 3 months, prefer availability for a maximum of 6 months

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC (“MBV”) is a plant in Ladson, South Carolina that produces Sprinter vans for the U.S. and Canadian market under the brands Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner. The midsize Mercedes-Benz Metris vans are also reassembled at this location.
Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC invested 500 million U.S. dollars in the construction of a new Sprinter production plant in addition to an expansion of the previous assembly operations. In September 2018, MBV officially opened its new plant, located next to existing operations in the North Charleston area. The MBV facility will provide up to 1,300 jobs by the end of the decade and is expected to create at least 600 additional jobs in the region through its suppliers.
More than 130,000 Sprinters have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered to destinations in the U.S. since 2006. The U.S. is now the second largest market for Sprinter vans, after Germany.
