Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with proficiency in various accounting software. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing accounts payable and receivable, performing reconciliations, and generating financial reports.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, or Xero
- Perform double entry bookkeeping and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting
- Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliation
- Assist in payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax regulations
- Generate financial reports and assist in budget preparation
- Analyze financial data to support decision-making processes
- Ensure adherence to GAAP standards in all accounting practices
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation
Experience
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably in corporate, non-profit, or governmental settings
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts including budgeting, account analysis, and technical accounting
- Proficiency in using various accounting software tools for efficient record keeping and reporting
- Familiarity with bank reconciliation processes and 10 key typing skills
- Experience with financial report writing and understanding of debits & credits principles
