Job Details of Business Reporting Analyst
Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and bilingual Business Reporting Analyst to join our organization. The Business Reporting Analyst will be responsible for leading key functions across analytics, regulatory compliance, and human resources. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, fluency in both English and Spanish, and a deep understanding of operational systems. The Business Reporting Analyst will play a critical role in maintaining internal controls, supporting workforce operations, and delivering data-driven insights to optimize company performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Analytics & Reporting:
- Build and maintain reports using Excel (Pivot Tables / Power Pivot, Power Query, Lookup Functions) to support inventory management, financial planning, and operational decision-making.
- Write and execute SQL queries to extract actionable data and generate custom reports. Prior SQL experience is a plus, but not required.
- Create and automate dashboards, data models, and operational trackers to support various departments.
- Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills to resolve data discrepancies, formula errors, and reporting inconsistencies quickly and accurately.
2, Operational Management:
- Maintain up-to-date records for warehouse operations
- Manage inventory levels across bonded and domestic warehouses, ensuring accurate stock records, timely replenishment, and alignment with lead times
- Help coordinate container builds and shipment planning
- Support operational process improvements by identifying inefficiencies, implementing controls, and maintaining clear SOPs for recurring workflows
- Analyze trends in purchasing, order fulfillment, and profitability to identify gaps and opportunities.
3. HR & Compliance:
- Manage payroll processes, prepare for workers’ compensation and state unemployment audits
- Support voluntary health insurance offerings and support benefit plan compliance, including nondiscrimination testing requirements
- Ensure correct worker classification and compliance with employment regulations
- Monitor business insurance policies to ensure active coverage for operations, property, liability, and employee benefits
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in an operations, compliance, business analyst, or HR coordinator role
- Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query and Pivot Tables (VBA a strong plus)
- Experience with SQL and/or Fishbowl Inventory software preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Familiarity with U.S. employment practices, payroll processes, and HR compliance a plus
- Excellent communication and follow-through
Languages:
- Fluent in English and Spanish required.
Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or a related field is required; MBA preferred.
