About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Sales to lead our North American sales organization in the furniture industry. This is a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, managing key accounts, and developing new business opportunities.

Reporting directly to the VP of Sales, the Director of Sales will oversee Sales Representatives, build strong relationships with major retailers, and contribute to product development and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Independent Sales Representatives across North America.
  • Drive sales growth by maintaining strong relationships with major furniture retailers and opening new accounts.
  • Achieve annual sales budgets, including revenue and margin targets.
  • Oversee promotional planning with key accounts and ensure successful execution.
  • Partner with product development and merchandising teams to influence product strategy, pricing, and showroom preparation.
  • Provide monthly sales updates and ensure the team is aligned with company goals.
  • Participate in strategic planning and decision-making as part of the U.S. Sales leadership team.
  • Travel domestically and internationally (overnight approximately 30%) to meet with customers, sales reps, and global team members.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years of sales leadership experience in the furniture manufacturing industry.
  • Proven track record of managing Direct Sales and Independent Reps and driving success with major furniture retailers.
  • Strong understanding of furniture merchandising, product development, and market trends.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions and cultures.
  • Innovative, forward-thinking, and self-motivated with a high level of integrity.
  • Willingness and availability to do up to 30% overnight travel including International.
