Scrum Master Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and driven Scrum Master to guide our Agile development teams toward delivering high-quality products on time. In this role, you will serve as a servant leader—facilitating collaboration, removing obstacles, and cultivating a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of Agile principles and practices, with the ability to lead teams through change and growth.
Responsibilities:
As a Scrum Master, you will:
Lead Agile Ceremonies: Facilitate all Agile events, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring consistent adherence to Scrum principles.
Promote Collaboration: Foster strong communication and transparency within and across cross-functional teams. Encourage open dialogue to drive alignment and decision-making.
Remove Impediments: Identify and eliminate obstacles that hinder team progress. Proactively resolve issues to enable smooth and continuous delivery.
Champion Continuous Improvement: Guide the team in regular reflection and process improvement, nurturing a growth mindset.
Measure and Report Progress: Use Agile metrics (e.g., velocity, burn-down charts) to monitor performance and provide actionable insights for leadership and stakeholders.
Engage Stakeholders: Work closely with Product Owners and business stakeholders to refine and prioritize the backlog, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Coach and Mentor: Support team Agile maturity through ongoing coaching and mentorship. Promote Agile best practices across the organization.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cultivate high-performing, self-organizing Agile teams with sustainable delivery practices.
- Ensure alignment between team processes, organizational standards, and Agile principles.
- Lead team planning sessions and leadership reviews; capture and share feedback effectively.
- Facilitate conflict resolution through discussion, negotiation, or appropriate escalation.
- Collaborate with Product Owners on backlog grooming and refinement.
- Coordinate across teams and remove organizational-level impediments.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate Agile metrics for performance tracking and forecasting.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will partner with Product Owners, developers, project managers, and other cross-functional team members across the organization. You’ll engage with stakeholders and leadership to ensure transparency, alignment, and successful product delivery throughout the Agile lifecycle.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong expertise in Agile methodologies and the Scrum framework.
- Proven experience coaching teams through Agile transformations.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex team dynamics and resolve conflicts.
- Experience working within large, matrixed organizations.
- Proficiency in Agile tools such as JIRA and Confluence, with experience in data-driven reporting.
