Fractional HR Manager – United States
Every startup reaches a point where product and strategy can’t move forward without strong people operations behind them. This is where you come in.
We’re looking for an experienced Human Resources leader to take ownership of day-to-day HR operations in the United States on a fractional, part-time basis. This role is fully remote and ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments but prefers the flexibility of a consulting arrangement.
You’ll be the go-to person for everything people-related — from hiring and onboarding new team members to managing payroll, benefits, compliance, and employee relations. You’ll ensure the employee experience is smooth from start to finish, handle sensitive matters with discretion, and help shape policies and practices that keep the company compliant and culture strong.
What you’ll own:
• End-to-end recruitment, from job postings and screening to offers and onboarding
• Payroll coordination and benefits administration, acting as the main point of contact for employee queries
• Day-to-day employee relations support, ensuring timely resolution of questions and concerns
• Compliance with U.S. federal and state labor laws, maintaining accurate records and policies
• Performance review support and coordination of training or development initiatives
• Offboarding processes, including exit interviews and benefits wrap-up
What you’ll bring:
• 5+ years of HR management experience, ideally within small or mid-sized organizations
• Strong knowledge of U.S. employment law, payroll processes, and benefits administration
• Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
• High integrity, professionalism, and ability to work independently
• Comfort operating in a remote, fractional consulting capacity
The setup:
This is a fully remote, fractional role with flexible hours structured around company needs. You’ll report directly to the CEO and collaborate with leadership to build a strong, scalable HR function that supports growth.
