With a focus on operational excellence and employee development, Our Client is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Human Resources to lead its HR function and propel the organization’s growth to new heights.
The Director of Human Resources (Director of HR) will serve as a key member of the leadership team, developing and implementing HR strategies that align with Our Client’s business objectives. This role will oversee all HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, training and development, compensation and benefits, compliance, and organizational development. The Director of HR will foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Leadership:
Develop and execute HR strategies that support Our Client’s mission, vision, and ambitious growth goals.
Partner with the VP of Operations and leadership team to align HR initiatives with organizational priorities, including expansion and operational efficiency.
Provide insights on workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational design to build a future-ready team.
Talent Acquisition and Retention:
Drive innovative recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent, from store associates to corporate leadership.
Implement engaging onboarding programs to seamlessly integrate new hires into Our Client’s culture and operations.
Create retention initiatives to enhance employee engagement and reduce turnover.
Employee Relations and Culture:
Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture that reflects Our Client’s core values.
Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees, addressing employee relations issues with empathy and professionalism.
Launch programs to boost employee morale, recognition, and engagement.
Training and Development:
Design and deliver training programs to support employee growth, leadership development, and operational excellence.
Identify skill gaps and create development plans to empower employees for career advancement.
Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
Compensation and Benefits:
Oversee the design and administration of competitive compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain top talent.
Conduct market analyses to ensure pay structures are equitable and aligned with industry standards.
Manage employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and OSHA regulations.
Oversee HR policies and procedures to mitigate risks and maintain a safe, compliant workplace.
Manage HR-related audits and investigations as needed.
HR Operations and Technology:
Oversee HR systems, processes, and technology to ensure efficiency and scalability.
Leverage data and analytics to measure HR performance and drive decision-making.
Manage the HR budget to ensure cost-effective operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Experience in the retail, hospitality, or convenience store industry is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of labor laws, compliance, and HR best practices.
Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels.
Strategic thinker with a track record of driving organizational change and employee engagement.
Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Workday) and data-driven decision-making.
