Experience
- 24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
- 24 months of Emergency Department experience is required with some in the last 24 months.
- Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
- Trauma Level 2 experience is required from any number of months
Requirements
Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any facility associated with Common Spirit, including CHI and/or Dignity within the past year.
Candidates who were employed PRN through outside firms will be considered.
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holidays: Rotate in with core staff
Tele: Yes, must be able to read and interpret EKG strips.
Shift starts 645. Report is at the bedside. OT and extra shifts are available. Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it. Schedules are out 4 weeks. Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves “available” for extra shifts and make trades with other staff. Block scheduling is generally not available.
Prior To Acceptance, The DYS Exam (Basic) Through Relias Is Required Along With Acceptance. Must Be Completed Within 24-48 Hrs. It’s Pass Or Fail And They Get 2 Attempts (Test A Should Be Assigned First, Test B Should Be Assigned For The Retake). A Screenshot Showing The Number Of Attempts Is Required. We Can Accept The Relias Basic DYS Exam Within The Last 12mo If The Traveler Has Previously Taken
If Your Traveler Fails The 2nd Attempt, They Will Be Made DNU For Common Spirit Az And Sac
Level I Trauma experience would be a Plus
Floating: All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen.
Floor specific orientation: 1 – 2 days on the floor with preceptor.
Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Primary trauma center for the area. Standard ED patients. Psych holds with security if agitated.
Facility holidays: 12/25/2025, 01/01/2025, 11/27/2025. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days
