Job Details of Economic Services Supervisor
Gaston Social Services: Protecting, caring for, and empowering children and adults who are temporarily or permanently unable to care for themselves through the administration of federal, state, and county programs focused on improving the well-being of our citizens.
An hourly salary range of $27.45 to $31.91 is anticipated for this position.
The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are those that are considered as essential for an employee to perform.
- Plans, assigns and reviews the work of staff engaged in interviewing and eligibility determination of applicants or recipients for public assistance; may individually process complex cases or actions. Monitors staff work to ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Trains personnel in the rules of work and interviewing procedures, sets work objectives and evaluates employees on performance, resolves problems and makes recommendations on the discipline of the staff.
- Update staff on changes in policies and procedures applicable to Federal, State and local laws related to public assistance; provides or coordinates in-service training for staff.
- Reads and interprets written policies and procedures as applicable.
- Provides explanations of decisions regarding eligibility determination for applicants appealing their application for benefits or services.
- Any other duties as assigned.
- Graduation with a High School diploma or GED equivalency.
- One year of experience in an Economic Services Program required.
- NC Fast Core Certification and Level 1 Core Trainings required.
Must have strong computer skills, exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and NC Fast.
