Geographic Information Systems Paid Internship (part-time) Job Details | Part Time Jobs in Taylorsville
**JOB SUMMARY**
This internship position works directly under the mentorship of the MSD GIS Team and offers hands-on learning experience in GIS. The intern will engage in a variety of technical tasks, ranging from routine to moderately complex in support of the District’s GIS infrastructure and databases. In addition to gaining proficiency with industry-standard GIS tools and workflows, the intern may use the opportunity to develop a culminating “capstone-style” project that showcases their applied skills and contributes meaningfully to MSD’s GIS initiatives.

**MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION**
Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program majoring in Geography, Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Planning or directly related field.
Candidates in their sophomore year through senior year at an accredited institution are preferred.
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES**
Knowledge Of
- Familiarity with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and geospatial data editing is required.
Skills And Abilities To
- Ability to compare GIS data to source documents, imagery, or field notes and identify errors or missing attributes is required. Comfort working across multiple schemas to build a unified dataset is required.
- Consistent, accurate work with both tabular and spatial data is required.
- Open to training on standards, field tools, and internal workflows is required.
- Dependable, responsive, and able to communicate progress or questions clearly is required.
