Job Summary:
The Supplier Quality Assurance & Development Specialist for Logistics is responsible for ensuring the quality and continuous improvement of logistics suppliers. This includes supplier qualification, audit execution, performance monitoring, and driving supplier development initiatives aligned with industrial standards of excellence. The role requires close collaboration with logistics functions and suppliers to resolve non-conformities and improve processes to enable on-time supply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and monitor supplier development activities within the assigned logistics category.
- Manage logistics process non-conformities by tracking tickets and executing Supplier Quality improvement plans.
- Collaborate with logistics functions and suppliers to enhance response and closure rates.
- Drive continuous process improvement initiatives related to logistics suppliers to support on-time supply performance.
- Lead high severity incident investigations and coordinate corrective actions with logistics suppliers.
- Participate in business reviews alongside operational logistics teams and category managers involving carriers, freight forwarders, and distribution centers.
- Communicate effectively across functional areas to influence and achieve supplier quality objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Supplier Quality or related Quality roles.
- Strong working knowledge of logistics supplier category.
- ISO 9001 Auditor skills, with lead auditor certification preferred.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as 6S, Lean, or similar.
