The Mountain View Educational Foundation (MVEF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that partners with the community to fund innovative, essential programs – ensuring every TK–8 student in the Mountain View Whisman School District (MVWSD) receives a well-rounded education. Our vision is for all students to feel a sense of belonging and be empowered to reach their full potential.
Position Overview
MVEF seeks a highly organized and detail-oriented Data & Operations Manager to provide essential support to our Executive Director (ED) and fundraising efforts. In this role, you will primarily focus on accurate data entry into our donor database, assist with donor communications, and help generate reports to support our mission. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail, basic tech comfort, and a passion for public education to contribute to a vital community organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Entry & Database Maintenance:
- Accurately enter and maintain donor information in our existing database (e.g., donation processing, contact updates, etc.).
- Administer PayBee software for MVEF’s annual fundraiser
- Donor Support: Assist with donor communications, including preparing acknowledgment letters and tax receipts.
- Reporting: Generate basic donor and campaign reports using spreadsheets to support the ED’s fundraising strategy.
- Administrative Support: Provide daily administrative assistance to the ED, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Communication Assistance: Support outreach efforts by assisting with mail merges and preparing materials for campaigns.
- Event Support: Help with logistical tasks for MVEF events as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience in an administrative support or data role, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace including Docs, Sheets, and Gmail.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and follow through on assignments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and empathetic approach.
- Ability to work occasional evenings to support school events and monthly board meetings.
Preferred Qualities
- Demonstrated experience generating reports in spreadsheets and deriving insights from data.
- Familiarity with database tools and a strong aptitude for learning new software quickly.
- Interest in nonprofits and public education
Compensation & Schedule
- $40,000-45,000/year (20 hrs/week), W2 contract
- Start date: September 2025
