About The Role
As a Data Scientist Intern at PMMC, you will work on real-world healthcare data challenges, applying advanced analytical methods and machine learning techniques to extract insights and support data-driven decision-making. This internship is designed for students or recent graduates with a strong foundation in statistics, programming, and data science who are looking to deepen their expertise in predictive modeling and healthcare analytics. You will collaborate closely with our data science and BI teams to develop models, automate processes, and explore patterns in complex healthcare revenue cycle data. Your work will contribute directly to innovative solutions that enhance client outcomes and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in collecting, cleaning, and preprocessing large datasets from various sources.
- Contribute to the annotation and labeling of datasets, ensuring high-quality input for machine learning models.
- Support the development and testing of predictive models and machine learning algorithms.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover trends, patterns, and insights.
- Create visualizations and reports to communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to support ongoing projects.
- Help build and maintain dashboards or data pipelines for monitoring business metrics.
- Document data sources, methodologies, and project outcomes clearly and concisely.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.
- Familiarity with SQL, Excel, and Python.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills for documenting work and collaborating with teams.
- Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
