Job Description
The Cancer Services Coordinator (CSC) serves as the operational point of contact and intake coordinator for the GI, Breast, and Lung cancer clinical programs. The CSC works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team of Oncology Nurse Navigators, Physicians, allied health providers, cancer registry, and administrative support staff to promptly meet all patient care needs. The CSC provides administrative support to the GI, Breast, and Lung cancer clinical programs. This is accomplished by the incumbent providing a high level of assistance in planning and organizing various multidisciplinary-related functions, including but not limited to ordering supplies, triaging mail, managing the electronic fax queue, ordering business cards, writing letters, placing work order requests, facilitating invoice payments, providing support to the cancer registry, and serving as the primary timekeeper for the department. The incumbent will assist the Oncology Nurse Navigators with scheduling patient appointments and coordinating the GI, Breast, and Lung treatment planning conferences as needed. The CSC is responsible for the timely procurement of all patient information required for patient care and treatment planning conferences per the direction of the Oncology Nurse Navigators. Furthermore, the CSC is responsible for submitting the weekly treatment planning conference attendance rosters to the cancer registry and UF CME office. Additionally, the incumbent must complete and submit the annual CME applications for Breast and GI Oncology as per the direction of the CME office. Additional duties will include assisting the coordinator/manager with special projects as needed and serving in other capacities as required by the needs of the UF Health Cancer Center.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:High school diploma required. Two years of physician practice experience is required. A four-year degree may substitute for two years of physician office experience. EPIC system knowledge is preferred. Excellent communication, customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required. Incumbents must be comfortable talking to possibly highly stressed patients in a professional and friendly manner. The ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, and function in a team environment are vital attributes of the successful incumbent.
